Two local business owners will open a women’s clothing resale store called Clothes Mentor in Colorado Springs’ Woodmen Valley Shopping Center.
Steve and Porscha Shideler will be the first in the Springs to open a branch of the Minnesota-based chain that offers “business and casual, smart and stylish apparel, shoes, purses and accessories for as much as 70 percent below mall prices,” according to a news release. The two plan to open Aug. 15.
The “gently used” clothing boutique will offer women’s sizes 0-26, petites, maternity and fashion brands such as Talbot’s, Ann Taylor, Chico’s, Gap, Banana Republic, Coach and Lilly Pulitzer. The store will also pay cash “all day, every day” for designer clothing and accessories in good condition.
“Unlike a consignment shop, where you may wait weeks to receive payment, Clothes Mentor is different by paying immediately for items they would like to purchase,” the release said.
The Shidelers also own a children’s clothing resale shop called Once Upon a Child that the couple opened two years ago next door in the Woodmen Valley Shopping Center. The local couple said that they plan to open more Colorado locations of both Clothes Mentor and Once Upon a Child.
The new Clothes Mentor location at 6948 N. Academy Blvd. makes more than 90 locations of the chain throughout the United States.
