At $255,728, the price of the average sale of a single-family home went up 8 percent higher than last year, according to figures from Sylvia Jennings of Prudential Rocky Mountain Realtors.
“That’s the highest average price seen in our area since the summer of 2007,” Jennings said. “The strength in home prices is the biggest indicator that the housing market is getting healthier.”
August marks the 18th straight month home prices have increased.
The demand for existing homes is still high, the the supply low, Jennings said.
