Colorado Springs resident Jared Grantham was recently awarded the 2013 Colorado Association of Career Colleges Meritorious Recognition award, which recognizes accomplished students from private career colleges. Grantham earned a master’s degree in computer science from Colorado Technical University in Colorado Springs in June. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management and an MBA from CTU.

Mark Perrault, a Northwestern Mutual field director and financial representative based in Colorado Springs, received the company’s Top Producer award based on an outstanding year helping clients achieve financial security. Northwestern Mutual recognized Perrault at its 133rd annual meeting.

Colorado Springs State Bank announced John Whitten has been promoted to market president. Whitten has spent most of his career in Colorado Springs in executive positions at a variety of community banks where he has focused on small business commercial banking.

Cynthia Latney, R.N., recently joined Penrose-St. Francis Health Services as the chief nursing officer. Latney most recently worked at the Medical Center of Aurora where she has been a vice president and CNO since 2010.

Martha Grubaugh, R.N., recently joined Penrose-St. Francis Health Services as the vice president of nursing services at St. Francis Medical Center. Grubaugh recently worked at the Bon Secours Health System in Richmond, Va., where she was the service line director for women’s and children’s services, covering six hospitals.

Adriana Pietz is the revenue manager for the Hotel Eleganté Conference Center, where she began her career in hotel management 14 years ago. Born and reared in Brazil, she holds an associate’s degree in hotel management.

Peak Education Board Chairman Steven Mullens has announced the permanent appointment of Jon Stepleton, a journalist and long-time civic and nonprofit leader, as CEO. Stepleton has held the position on an interim basis since January, following the departure of former CEO Dee Beaudette.

UMB Bank, a subsidiary of UMB Financial Corp., announced Troy Bernberg joined UMB as a vice president, public finance banker in the public finance group. In this role, he is responsible for providing investment banking services to local governments in Colorado. Bernberg earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Kathleen Saltmarsh-Voss, formerly community outreach specialist at Falcon School District 49, has been named the community relations specialist at Intellitec Medical Institute.

Brian Bentrop was named director of leadership giving at Pikes Peak United Way. Bentrop graduated from Missouri Western State University with a bachelor’s degree in speech communication.

Pikes Peak Community College hired Wendy MacColl as the director of the Office of eLearning. MacColl earned an associate of applied science in radio and television broadcasting from PPCC, a Bachelor of Science in Trade and Industrial Education from Colorado State University and a master’s degree in administration, supervision and curriculum development with an emphasis in instructional design and technology from the University of Colorado-Denver.
