Art Hardware is moving to 119 E. Costilla Street. It is moving its retail store within the same building, just west on Costilla from the current location of 402 S. Nevada. The move will take place by mid-October.
“This is a better layout of our overall operations,” said owner Don Foreman. “It’s going to be a better space for us,” in terms of its production area and for “employee comfort.”
In the business’ current location, “we get very chilly in the winter months,” Foreman said.
Since opening in 1978, Art Hardware has been located in downtown Colorado Springs.
“Downtown is the only place I’ve ever considered for my business,” Foreman said. “My staff and I all live within a bike ride of downtown, so when the option opened up to move to a new location downtown that was more convenient for our customers, I decided to take the leap.”
The company offers custom framing, large format digital printing and supplies and will continue servicing engineers, architects and graphic professionals in addition to local fine artists.
This is the business’ fourth location in downtown Colorado Springs in 35 years.
“The company’s 35-year-old focus on value, knowledgeable and friendly customer service, and updated technology have contributed to its long term success,” said Foreman.
Foreman reports business is good.
“We’ve seen an increase in business since the first of the year,” he said, adding that the economy has picked up, so he’s seeing more architects, engineers and contractors.
