A request for proposal has been issued by the City of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority for redesign and reconstruction of the intersection at Nevada Avenue and Southgate Road.
The two agencies announced the RFP issuance on SpringsGov.com for the intersection project, which will entail improvements at and along South Nevada Avenue, Southgate Road and East Cheyenne Road.
“The intersection will be reconfigured to add an additional westbound thru lane, add median on the east leg and modify the median on the north leg,” according to a news release. “The west leg will add some curb and gutter and striping.”
Bid proposals for the intersection project must be submitted no later than 3 p.m. Nov. 8 at the City Contracts Office at 30 S. Nevada Ave., according to RFP documents.
All prime contractors planning to submit proposals for the project are also “urged” to attend a pre-proposal conference at 10 a.m. Oct. 24 in Conference Room 201 of the City Contracts Office. That meeting is not mandatory.
