Discover Goodwill of Southern & Western Colorado has moved up to gold status with GuideStar, a national nonprofit reporting agency.
This status places the organization in the top 3 percent of all reported nonprofits, totaling over 43,000. Goodwill’s gold status reflects the organization’s commitment to transparency demonstrated through solid financial management and mission focus, according to a news release sent by Discover Goodwill.
Dedicated to breaking the barriers that keep individuals from leading independent and purpose-filled lives, Goodwill accomplishes its mission using more than 20 diverse employment and life-skills programs designed to help foster confidence and opportunity for tens of thousands of individuals each year.
The donation and retail-center operations fund a significant portion of Goodwill’s programs and services. Discover Goodwill dedicates nearly 90 percent of its annual budget to programs that directly impact the lives of citizens throughout southern and western Colorado.
