Kaiser Permanente Colorado launched a new weekly podcast called Total Health Radio on Wednesday.
Total Health Radio is Kaiser Permanente’s first national venture into the world of podcasting. The podcast series, recorded and produced in Colorado, will cover a wide range of topics — especially women’s and family health — with the help of local and national physicians, health experts and patients, who will share their experiences dealing with and overcoming health challenges.
The podcast is hosted by Kaiser Permanente obstetrician/gynocologist Joyce Gottesfeld, who has taken care of women and delivered babies at St. Joseph’s hospital for 17 years.
The radio show features podcasts about family health, women’s heart health and developing awareness of teen dating violence. Future topics will include items related to total health — mind, body, and spirit — and will discuss such matters as breast cancer risk, healthy sleep, caffeine and kids, flu season awareness, mindfulness and more.
The podcasts are free and available through mobile devices and personal computers at TotalHealthRadio and will soon be available on podcast-distribution platforms such as iTunes and Stitcher. Listeners can view show summaries, explore additional resources on featured topics, and check out bonus clips from shows.
