The Public Relations Society of America’s annual professional development workshop will be from 8:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Oct. 31 at the El Paso County Citizens Service Center, 1675 W. Garden of the Gods Road. Registration ends Oct. 24.

Transition, encore careers

The Pikes Peak Workforce Center and Innovations in Aging Collaborative will hold a Transition and Encore Careers workshop from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 4 – 5 at Pikes Peak Workforce Center, 1675 Garden of The Gods Road, #1107. This workshop is geared toward those considering a move from the for-profit or military sectors to the nonprofit or public sectors and will be taught by Janine Vanderburg of JVA Consulting. Women of Influence

CSBJ will hold the annual Women of Influence reception from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7 at The Pinery at the Hill, 775 W. Bijou St.

CSBJ will recognize 13 outstanding women in the community. Keynote speaker Penrose St. Francis President & CEO Margaret Sabin will talk about “How to Use Your Power & Influence to Change a Community.”

The cost is $45 for an individual seat or $400 for a corporate table of eight.

Coats & Cans Drive

Harris Group Realty Inc., Catholic Charities and Lighthouse Ministries Pantry will host the ninth annual Coats & Cans Community Drive to assist needy families throughout Colorado Springs. The group will collect new or gently used clothing, coats, mittens, sweaters, scarves, snowsuits, hats and nonperishable food items from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, until Nov. 15. Items can be dropped off at 2950 Professional Place, Suite 205, Kissing Camels Office Park, just east of Coronado High School on Fillmore Road or at Easy Street Designs,109 Kiva Road in Security, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
