The Colorado Department of Transportation has launched a new website in conjunction with the development of its 2040 Statewide Transportation Plan.
With a more user-friendly interface than its predecessor, ColoradoTransportationMatters.com works with the statewide plan to establish future goals and inform citizens of how they can help cultivate the future of transportation in the state, according to a CDOT news release.
“The development of a successful [statewide plan] relies heavily on the participation of not only our planning partners across the state, but the general public as well,” said Planning Section Manager Michelle Scheuerman in the release. “This website will make it easy for people to share their input so that we can develop a plan that reflects the priorities and needs of all Coloradans.”
CDOT’s former website at ColoradoDOT.info remains operational.
The new website features various interactive elements and offers important information about funding, operations, maintenance and CDOT’s aspirations for the next 25 years. The release said that the site will also function as a forum and calendar to help keep Coloradans in the loop with planning, events and a range of data pertaining to state transportation.
“The website will serve as a central point of contact for CDOT, its planning partners, and the public at large as the plan develops between now and the spring of 2014,” according to the release. “Your input is critical in developing Colorado’s transportation vision for the future!”
