Colorado Springs-area Old Chicago Restaurants, Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery and CraftWorks Foundation donated $40,000 to Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado this week.
CraftWorks is the nonprofit entity of Old Chicago, Rock Bottom and works to resolve the issue of hunger within its communities. Proceeds from the 7th annual Springs Beer Fest to Care and Share Food Bank funded the donation.
“In Southern Colorado, ending childhood hunger begins with the Children’s Nutrition Initiative, and programs like the School Pantry program, a new, unique way to reach children from elementary through high school. Thus, we’re responding with a $40,000 grant,” said Angie Leach, executive director of CraftWorks, in a news release.
Care and Share Food Bank is the only food bank in a 31-county, 52,000-square mile region of Southern Colorado and has been feeding families since 1974.
