Parking meter changes downtown, OCC

Filed under: Daily News | Tags:, ,

The City of Colorado Springs replaced 882 parking meters with meters that accept coins and credit cards in the core of downtown and along Colorado Avenue through Old Colorado City.

The new meters operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and accept Visa and MasterCard, but not Easy Park cards.

More than 1,600 meters in downtown and Old Colorado City still accept Easy Park Cards, and those meters operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

For customers who had used Easy Park cards exclusively in the core of downtown and cannot use them any longer, the city offers refunds.

To obtain refunds, customers can take their Easy Park cards to the parking administration office, 130 S. Nevada Ave. The balance on the card will be verified, and balances of less than $20 will be refunded in cash. Balances of more than $20 or if multiple cards are turned in, will be processed through the city’s finance office and a refund check will be mailed to the customer.

  1. I have been using these smart cards for years and can’t believe the city would make my life and many others so difficult by not conitnueing the program. Our tax dollars at work for us??
