Memorial, Olympic athletes promote health challenge

Memorial Hospital and U.S. Olympic and U.S. Paralympic athletes are sponsoring the Road to Greatness 90-day Health Challenge.

From 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, participants will gather on Tejon Street from Platte Avenue to Pikes Peak Avenue for the Olympic Downtown Celebration.

The Health Challenge asks people to take a pledge, to commit to performing certain healthy tasks.

“Join U.S. para-snowboarder Keith Gabel Friday and take a pledge to bettering your health. We challenge you to take small steps that lead to greatness,” hospital officials said in a news release.

“With your pledge, you’ll have access to events and inspiration from U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes and health tips that encourage you to channel your inner greatness.”
