Medicaid contractors workshop
A Medicaid Certification Workshop will be held for licensed, professional general contractors from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Independence Center, 729 S. Tejon St. Lunch will be served. The workshop will help contractors become certified to qualify for state funding to carry out Medicaid home modifications. Staff from the city of Colorado Springs’ Housing Services Division, which runs a similar program for county residents, and representatives from the state Health Care Finance Department will be on hand to assist with the certification process. Social Enterprise workshop
The Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado will host the region’s first social enterprise workshop in partnership with the Small Business Development Center, BlueStar Recyclers, AspenPointe, the Center for Non-Profit Excellence and the Social Enterprise Alliance. The workshop will be from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Glen Eyrie Conference Center, 3820 N. 30th St. Cost is $25 for affiliated members, $35 for non-affiliated members and $45 day-of for non-affiliated members. Youth job fair
The Pikes Peak Workforce Center Youth Zone seeks employers in El Paso and Teller counties with summer positions for young adults 16-21, to attend one of three Governor’s Summer Job Hunt Young Adult Job Fairs from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 3 in Colorado Springs; 1 to 5 p.m. April 8 in Woodland Park; and 12 to 4 p.m. April 30 in Cripple Creek. Employers must be willing to fill their summer positions and pay $8 per hour. There is no charge for employers to attend, and participating employers receive free lunch.
