“The Flying W Ranch has been working with local and federal authorities and hundreds of volunteers to protect our municipal water supply and to revegetate the Waldo Canyon burn area by installing log erosion barrier structures and seeding/mulching the hill, slopes, and plains,” said a news release issued by Old Colorado City Associates.
The group scheduled several events and volunteer days in March and April for those who wish to contribute their time and energy to the cause. Volunteer activities include seeding, mulching, installing log erosion barriers and other tasks.
“Our hope is to protect those downstream from us from any further devastation and with your help we feel we can accomplish just that,” the release said.
