Probate and trust estates

Land Title will sponsor “Probate & Trust Estates – Real Estate Related Process Common Issues.” Offered by Educated Mind, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Mesa Conservation Center, 2855 Mesa Road, this course will explain the impact of probate or trust administration on the sale contract and timeline, additional documentation required, changes to the closing prices, and frequent mistakes and problems encountered. The 23rd annual Wine Festival of Colorado Springs benefits the Colorado Springs Conservatory. Seminars include food and wine pairing, organic wine, wine tasting with a market auction, and gourmet winemaker dinner and live auction. Leadership Development for Emerging Healthcare Leaders

The UCCS College of Business, Office of Professional & Executive Development (OPED) is offering this non-credit, professional development program for the health care industry. This five-module program is tailored for health care professionals who have roles in supervision, management and leadership. Modules will be held every two weeks from 12:15 to 4:30 p.m., at UCCS, 1420 Austin Bluffs Pkwy. Registration Fee is $875. CEUs earned will be 1.75. Flash flood preparedness

The City of Colorado Springs Office of Emergency Management will host a resident preparedness meeting on post-Waldo Canyon fire flash flood risk from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Front Range Alliance Church, 5210 Centennial Blvd., for residents along North and South Douglas creeks and the general public. The meeting will provide education and updated information with regard to the increased flash flood risk following damage to vegetation on the Waldo Canyon burn scar, and the city’s planned response to a potential flash flood. The presentation will also highlight ongoing flood mitigation efforts along areas impacted by the burn scar. The meeting location is wheelchair accessible. Reasonable accommodations for the deaf and hard of hearing through closed captioning or sign language interpreter will be provided upon request, by notifying Vickie Rodriguez at oem@springsgov.com or 385-5957. Requests should be made by Wednesday, March 5 to ensure accommodations can be provided.

Connect for Health to visit Springs

El Paso County residents still have time to explore their health insurance options. Connect for Health Colorado will have a mobile team in Colorado Springs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments Building, 14 S. Chestnut St. Both the mobile team and PPACG’s in-house health coverage guides will offer free, in-person assistance to answer questions, help individuals shop and compare plans, complete applications, and check eligibility for exclusive cost-reductions

Under the Affordable Care Act, Coloradans need to complete enrollment by March 31 in order to have health insurance coverage for 2014.
