The League of Women Voters of the Pikes Peak Region is exploring the question of how to increase citizen engagement and representation.
They will discuss this issue from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at First United Methodist Church, 420 N. Nevada Ave.
Some of the questions involve holding city elections in November of odd-numbered years instead of April, changing the number of council districts, majority versus plurality elections, and redistricting on the U.S. Census cycle.
Coalition groups include Citizens Project, Council of Neighbors and Organizations, Common Cause, Savvy Seniors and Colorado Springs Rising Professionals.
Other coalition groups are meeting 5:30-7 p.m. March 20, East Library, 5550 N. Union Blvd., 5:30-7 p.m. March 26, fire station 20, 6755 Rangewood Drive and 6-7:30 p.m., April 7, Deerfield Hills Community Center, 4290 Deerfield Hills Road.
RSVP is encouraged by calling 473-7083.
