Volunteer needed on regional board

Steve-Bach-2The City of Colorado Springs is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments Community Advisory Committee.

The Committee is a non-technical body comprised of volunteers who offer a citizen’s perspective on items like transportation, the environment and military growth impacts in the region. It also is in place to ensure the responsiveness and accountability of government and to generate support for regional cooperation.

The Council is a voluntary organization that works to expand cooperation among the region’s governments to address public challenges. Programs include the Area Agency on Aging, transportation planning, water and air quality, military impact planning and more. Participating members include representatives from 16 area local governments.

Meetings are the last Wednesday of every month at 3 p.m.
