The Pillar Institute of Lifelong Learning is having Jay Cimino of Phil Long car dealerships as its guest lecturer at the East Library, 5550 N. Union Blvd., Wednesday from 1:30 – 3 p.m.

In 1975 the late Phil Long recruited Cimino to be general manager of Phil Long Ford in Colorado Springs.

Cimino has grown the dealership from a single franchise with 55 employees to 12 franchises and 900 employees. Cimino, also a philanthropist in Southern Colorado, was selected as Humanitarian of the Year by the Pikes Peak Chapter of the Red Cross for 2013.

“His giving nature is a true reflection of the man he is in both his personal and business life. Cimino remains committed to improving the quality of life for all citizens as he inspires ideas that benefit our community,” said Tom White, Pillar volunteer.

One Response to Jay Cimino to speak

  1. He don’t want me to attend. I would have to tell him about my bad experience with Phil Long Ford and the lemon they sold me. You can be a the philanthropist you want to be but if you are still selling a bad product that don’t make up for it.
