health-careTwo upcoming health fairs stand to help hundreds of people in Manitou Springs and the Tri-Lakes area at Monument.

The Manitou Springs Southern Colorado Health Fair will take place from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Community Congregational Church, 103 Pawnee Ave.

There, a 31-component blood analysis will be available for $30, and a blood cell count will be offered for $15. Men may take a prostate cancer screening test for an additional $25. For more information about this event, call 685-5089.

The Tri-Lakes Community Health Fair will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 3 at Lewis Palmer High School, 1300 Higby Road. There, volunteers will be available to check blood pressure, measure cholesterol and blood sugar and provide health education on many other topics.

Health providers from the Tri-Lakes area and nursing students from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs will answer questions about chiropractic services, eye health, hearing, blood pressure, nutrition, exercise, stress, dental care, massage, cancer and more. Visitors to the fair will have the opportunity to win prizes such as sports equipment, tools, certificates for free pizza, gift cards and a gym membership.
