Jewett began her career with Rocky Mountain Field Institute as a student at Colorado College in the Earth Corps program in 2003 and has served in a variety of roles since that time including field instructor, program coordinator, program director and for the past three years as executive director.
“While we are sad to lose Rebecca, we are also grateful for all she has contributed to the organization,” said Ian Kalmanowitz, board chair of Rocky Mountain Field Institute.
“As the executive director of the Rocky Mountain Field Institute, Rebecca has grown the organization from a fledgling, all-volunteer organization to a honed environmental non-profit,” said Scott Campbell, former executive director of the Palmer Land Trust. “She is a great strategic thinker, highly respected in philanthropic circles, and a wonderful public speaker, membership developer, and consensus builder.”
The Rocky Mountain Field Institute Board will redeploy existing staff to manage the summer season while actively seeking a new executive director. For more information about Rocky Mountain Field Institute, visit www.rmfi.org.
