Penrose, St. Francis accredited

Penrose Hospital and St. Francis Medical Center received full accreditation with PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention) from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care. Both hospitals were initially accredited in 2011 and are eligible for re-accreditation every three years.

Red Energy gets points of light, more

Red Energy Public Relations has been awarded several new contracts, Cedarwood Development, the Allstate Foundation/Points of Light and Seven Status.

Volunteer of the year

Brian Colvert has been named as a 2013 volunteer of the year for USA Triathlon and the Age Group Committee. Colvert was a 2013 Triabetes captain. This award recognizes an individual whose volunteer leadership has been transformative and who has mobilized and unified athletes, programs and organizations that improve the events, youth or others affiliated with the sport.

Mountaineer wins award

The Mountaineer recently won second place in the Installation Management Command Keith L. Ware journalism competition for printed newspapers. All newspapers from U.S. Army installations worldwide competed in the same category.

Lambert receives kudos

State Sen. Kent Lambert, R-Colorado Springs, received the University of Colorado Legislative Award for his work promoting education funding and capital construction projects.
