PPCC nursing at 100 percent
The Pikes Peak Community College nursing program has achieved a 100 percent NCLEX pass rate for three consecutive years. These pass rates indicate the high quality of professional nurses entering the community’s workforce.
Many students refer to the pass rates to choose a college. The PPCC nursing program graduates some 85 students a year.
Chris Blees, managing director of BiggsKofford, one of the leading certified public accounting firms in Colorado, celebrates 20 years with the company in June. Blees, 42, joined BiggsKofford after graduating from Western State Colorado University in 1994.
Susan Grace, artist-in-residence with the Colorado College Music Department, received the Spirit of the Springs award. The award is given by Mayor Steve Bach to those whose accomplishments have enhanced the community.
The American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) announced that Pikes Peak Library District’s special collections department received an award of merit from the AASLH Leadership in History Awards for the Pikes Peak Regional History Symposium. The annual event is hosted by the department, which focuses on historical people, events and trends in the Pikes Peak region.
