Youth are good stewards

The Mile High Youth Corps won the Stewardship Award in education from the Palmer Land Trust for its work in wildfire restoration in Colorado Springs and Cañon City. Last year, the group removed invasive species in riparian areas.

The Coalition for the Upper South Platte won the Stewardship Award in conservation from the Palmer Land Trust for its work in wildfire restoration in Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs.

Servpro recognized

Casey and Mara Simmerman and Roxanne and Stephen Turnbloom, who own Servpro franchises in Colorado Springs, were lauded at the business’ annual convention. They were recognized for outstanding revenue performance.

West Tech earns award

West Tech Communications announced it earned a ShoreTel partner customer experience award. West Tech was honored as a customer satisfaction achiever in its champion partner program.

$5 million grant awarded

The National Museum of World War II Aviation received a $5 million challenge grant from the Slattery Family Foundation to construct Aviation Hall, a 60,000-square-foot exhibit hall and education center on the museum’s Colorado Springs campus. The Slattery Family Foundation awarded the museum a $1 million gift to immediately begin design work on the new center.
