U.S. Bank SBA division opens office in Colorado Springs

Jackie Gonzalez - U.S. BankU.S. Bank has opened its first office to provide Small Business Administration loans in the Colorado Springs market. Operating as U.S. Bank SBA Division, the new office is located at 6 S. Tejon St. in downtown Colorado Springs. 

Jackie Gonzalez, a Colorado Springs resident, will lead the new office as business development officer.  She has more than 20 years of financial services experience and an associate’s degree from Everest College.

Gonzalez is actively involved in the Colorado Springs Small Business Development Center and is currently an ambassador for the Colorado Springs Regional Business Alliance. 

“We are fortunate to have someone of Gonzalez’s extensive financial background,” said Cynthia Mazzetta, senior vice president and central regional manager for U.S. Bank’s SBA Division.  “Jackie brings a high level of expertise to our organization. As we expand to meet the needs of small businesses in a new market, it is vital to have a person of Jackie’s background to assist in this growth.” 

Tom Naughton, region president for U.S. Bank in Southern Colorado, said, “Jackie will be a great complement to our commercial and business banking teams in Southern Colorado. Having knowledge of the markets she will serve, and established relationships, will benefit expanding U.S. Bank’s SBA lending activities.” 

U.S. Bank, a decades-long supporter of small businesses through the U.S. Small Business Administration lending program, ended the 2013 SBA fiscal year on Sept. 30 with $639 million in volume and 2,519 loans committed. The totals represent a 22 percent increase in dollar volume over 2012 and a 52 percent increase in the number of loans provided. U.S. Bank was the second largest SBA lender by volume in the country for 2013. 

Through the SBA Division, U.S. Bank operates 30 specially designated SBA Business Centers across the United States and operates as an SBA Preferred Lender in Colorado and nationwide. U.S. Bank participates in both the 7(a) and 504 loan programs.
