High-end homes are selling again in Aspen.
The Aspen Times reported today that the glitzy mountain town is fast approaching a record year for sales of homes priced over $10 million. Three such homes are under contract and another 14 have already sold this year. That’s just one off from an annual record number, the Times reported.
A local real estate report in Aspen said that almost one in every four homes sold in Aspen this year were priced over $10 million.
Aspen real estate agents told the Times that many of the buyers are coming from abroad, especially from Europe, Russia , Mexico, Brazil, Australia and New Zealand.
The high-end homes in Aspen are particularly attractive to foreign buyers because of current exchange rates and the downwardly-adjusted prices after the housing market crash, real estate analysts said.
