Foreclosure filings in El Paso County were up slightly in February, according the Colorado Division of Housing foreclosure report.
Filings were up 4.5 percent in El Paso County, which tracks with the average for Colorado’s metropolitan counties, where filings were up 3.5 percent year over year. From January to February, foreclosure filings rose 6 percent statewide.
Foreclosure auction sales have been down 13 of the last 14 months comparing year over year, according to the division of housing report. And February was no exception. Auction sales dropped by 6.7 percent, falling to the lowest February since 2008. From January to February, however, auction sales climbed 8.5 percent statewide.
Boulder, Broomfield and Weld Counties saw the biggest drops in foreclosure filings in February with 25, 23.5 and 17.4 percent drops respectively.
