The six largest investor-owned health insurance companies are on pace to post record profits this year.
All six saw 22 percent increase in combined net income during the third quarter of 2010, according to figures complied by Health Care for American Now, a lobbying group in favor of health care reform.

Aetna will no longer offer small group insurance in Colorado starting Friday, according to reports from Colorado Managed Care News.

Seven insurance companies have agreed to pay for their members to use Quitline, the state-sponsored smoking cessation program.
The agreement will effectively save the program because the state’s budget crunch caused its budget to be slashed.
