Hickenlooper’s filmmaker cousin dead from overdose

Denver filmmaker George Hickenlooper’s death last month was an accidental overdose. The Colorado Medical Examiner reported Monday that the 47-year-old cousin of Colorado Gov.-elect John Hickenlooper died after taking ethanol and oxymorphone. Colo. gets $776,000 from Novartis settlement

Colorado has received $776,510 under a two-part deal with Novartis Pharmaceutical Corp. to settle allegations of off-label marketing. County launches discount drug card program (access required)

El Paso County launched a prescription discount program today that is available to its residents regardless of age, income or existing health coverage. The program is sponsored by the National Association of Counties, which has negotiated a high-volume discount with Caremark, which gets the medicine from the pharmaceutical companies.
