Federal tax credits have resulted in a surge of first time homebuyers. The National Association of Realtors reports that 47 percent of all home sales from July 2009 through June 2010 were first time homebuyers. Seventy-one percent of those buyers said they took advantage of federal tax credit programs. Read more here.
