Fountain Creek receives $2.5 million for trails, recreation
The Fountain Creek Watershed Trails and Recreation Project has won a $2.5 million Great Outdoors Colorado lottery grant, one of eight funded via a special rivers corridor initiative to foster outdoor recreation and land preservation. The money will be used to turn Fountain Creek into a recreational asset in Pueblo and El Paso Counties. [...]
Colorado Parks and Wildlife says it has $1.7 million in matching grants available to support projects that would benefit fishing, shooting ranges or motorized boating. Parks and wildlife officials are accepting applications from individuals, organizations and local governments for some of that money.
