The international team visited four embassies on Tuesday in an effort to establish more overseas connections for Colorado Springs business and educational institutions. We began with a meeting with the ambassador of Jordan, who discussed the security situation in his country and also provided suggestions to one of our team members about their specific business needs in Jordan. Tuesday: Reception, Wednesday: On the Hill

Tuesday night the Colorado Springs delegation was treated to a reception at the Mexico Cultural Institute. Ambassador Gutierrez, Mexico’s ambassador to the United States, addressed the group.

Defense team update

The defense team arrived in Washington, D.C. with 25 members, the largest of the chamber’s five teams. The team included representation from our military bases and installations and community and county leaders. We spent two productive days in the Pentagon discussing issues with the Air Force, Army, Missile Defense Agency, the DoD Office of Economic Adjustment and the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs. Next week promises to be a busy one. I’ll be in Washington, D.C., from Feb. 26 through March 2 with the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Action Mission.

<p>The Olympic Games in Turino was a compilation of the best winter athletes. We may have the best Colorado Springs business athletes here in D.C.
