Colorado Tourism Day Jan. 29, bus taking Springs residents

A tour bus is leaving Colorado Springs for the state capital Jan. 29 and the leader of the Colorado Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau is hoping its full.

Doug Price, CVB president and CEO, is taking reservations for a seat on the bus, which is taking folks to Colorado Tourism Day Jan. 29 at the capital to meet with lawmakers.

The bus, provided by Gray Lines Tours, is leaving from Cheyenne Mountain Resort,3225 Broadmoor Valley Road, at 6 a.m. and then from the Marriott,5580 Tech Center Drive, at 6:15 a.m.

Each year, lawmakers set aside time to speak with tourism officials and enthusiasts from across the state to find out what issues they face and what support they need from lawmakers.

Tourism Day is from 8 to 11 a.m. Anyone interested in going on the trip, which is free, should call the CVB at 685-7633 or email

“I’d love to fill that bus,” Price said.
