A controversial apartment building on Colorado Springs’ west side is moving forward. The Colorado Springs Planning and Zoning Commission voted April 16 on a 7-2 margin to approve the Arrowswest Apartment Development.That’s despite opposition from residents in many nearby neighborhoods, many of whom have opposed similar developments in the area out of concerns about high-density residential developments due to potential wildfire evacuation. The developers are proposing 222 residential units across a nearly 9-and-a-half-acre plot on the Southeast side of 30th Street and Garden of the Gods.

Illegal Pete’s held its long-awaited grand opening on April 25. The Boulder-based, fast-casual Mexican food favorite opened its first Colorado Springs location at the corner of Colorado Avenue and Tejon Street. The company first announced plans to open in the summer of 2022.
